IUKA – A Pearl River County man is facing new charges after a weekend shakedown found five homemade knives in his bed.
According to Tishomingo County Sheriff John Daugherty, a recent shakedown uncovered a host of small contraband items. The search of Michael Dakota Lumkin’s cell revealed five knives, known as shanks, hidden in the mattress and bedding. An investigation found the materials used came from a door and frame that was being repaired.
Lumkin, 24, of Poplarville, was originally arrested in November 2016 for the burglary of a dwelling that happened in 2015. He is now facing five counts of possession of contraband. Bond was set at $50,000 on the new charges.
