The Mississippi High School Activities Association has approved the move of the football championships out of Jackson’s Veterans Memorial Stadium, a source close to the situation told the Daily Journal on Monday night.

It’s expected that a rotation of sites will include Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss. MSU will be the host for this year’s games.

MHSAA officials told the Daily Journal back in January that the game could be played at MSU and Ole Miss, based on which one didn’t host the Egg Bowl.

“We are still in the proposal stage,” MHSAA executive director Don Hinton said via email Monday afternoon. “We hope to have an announcement soon.”
